Often we see and hear about people who have become a celebrity due to their sheer brilliance and personality and we crave to become one like them. When we realize that it is not easy and very difficult our self-esteem takes a beating and we start to ridicule ourselves and think twice to take effort in achieving our dreams.
Here are few tips which will help you in boosting you self-esteem.
1. Start accepting yourself:Â First and the foremost thing is developing your self-esteem is that you accept yourself as you are, your strengths, your weaknesses, your anger and every other qualities you have irrespective of whether they are positive or negative. Analyze the source of your negative qualities and try to avoid them. By doing this you overall personality become more positive. For example if you are always untidy then try to groom or tidy yourself. This not only makes you feel good but presents the positive part of your personality to others. Try to counter to negative feelings with a balanced view and start to view things from others point of view.
2. Accept your mistakes: No one is right all the time. I am saying this not just to make you feel good but it is a fact. Most people tend to criticize themselves when they make an error or bad judgement which will lead to low self-esteem, low self-worth and low self-confidence. Always accepts your mistakes and never repeat them in future. Learn from your mistakes and you can become successful in your life just by not repeating your mistakes.
3. Don’t take others words to your heart: Nobody in this is world is selfless even your closest friends will have an element of selfishness when they express themselves or criticize you. All the opinions your friends or colleagues says will be from their point of view and definitely affect your self-respect if take into your heart. Just gloss over their opinions and leave it if it is affecting you.
4. Trust your intuition: I will tell you that intuition is your best friend. More than me or your friends you intuition will guide you properly all through your life. Follow it as it were a Bible. The more you go against your intuition the more problems you will face. For example, there are many situations when your intuition has told to keep your mouth shut but you spoke because of your habit and got yourself into a problem. My advice is follow your intuition for any type of situation.
5. Appreciate and enjoy yourself: For each milestone you achieve just go and enjoy yourself. There is no need to be modest when it comes to celebration. This will propagate your positive energy to others and will tune your mind to work for such celebrations in future.
6. Be content and satisfied: You may have big dreams to achieve but you will not be able make your dreams come true if you are not satisfied with reality. Build the foundation to achieve you dreams in reality. The best foundation is being in content with reality. For each and every thing you have there are many people who lack it, so be happy and content with what you have which is a strong foundation from which you can launch to chase your wild dreams.
7. Set goals: It is perfectly fine to have great goals but if you do not plan properly to reach then then it will create a lot of frustration and anxiety. To overcome this, create multiple small goals which can be achieved with less effort and remember small drops make an ocean and Rome was not built in a day.
8. Positive contacts: Try to establish or nurture contacts with positive minded people and make sure that they are the ones who can encourage you and not discourage you.
The successful people have abundance of high self-esteem. Try these tips and make your life a successful one.
